Going Solo: Gen. 1.15

Today was a bittersweet day, Kerri was growing up. Time was passing way too quickly. I started to get a little teary eyed at the idea, but Lenny knew just how to cheer me up.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.14

Living with Lenny I was beginning to see where all his money went. He seemed to have a bit of a drinking problem. He was having juice at all times during the day or night. He still went to work and he was trying to help cover some of the bill, but he was in debt so I didn't want to take too much of his money knowing I could cover the household bills on my own. I was very grateful to have him around when a burglar tried to break into the house.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.13

With age comes wisdom and regret. Or at least that's how it is for Matt. Now that he has reached elder status and facing his mortality, he is rethinking his life. That thought process seems to be directed at his daughter. Kerri was getting to know her father finally and I was happy for that. He would come over just to hang out, or help her with her homework even though she really didn't need it.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.12

Kerri was the first to wish me happy birthday. I wasn't as happy about getting older as she was. Being an adult meant wrinkles and wrinkles were bad for a woman's career. Men got better with age but women just aged. Getting older didn't stop me from throwing myself a party. I never had one and I was going to celebrate regardless.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.11

Being a featured actress wasn't too bad. I got speaking roles but none that were major. I have to say I was very cute as the french maid in the latest film, and I was already in character when I had to clean up after our dishwasher broke.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.10

Now that Kerri was older, I was putting more time into my career. I needed to get things back on track if I was ever going to become a big name actress. I had an upcoming role and spent time working on making sure I knew my lines. Sometimes I felt like I wasn't spending enough time with Kerri and I made up for that with material things she asked me for. She was a smart girl, and all of her requests were usually something educational, so even more reason to say yes.

Going Solo: Gen 1.9

It seemed like just yesterday I was bringing Kerri home from the hospital, but today was another birthday for her. My baby was growing up into a little girl. I of course planned another party for her. She had to have the best, always! I invited Matt and he showed up, with his new woman of the moment Lala Angelista.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.8

Time sure flew by and before I knew it, it was time for Kerri's birthday. I wanted to give her a big party because I never had one when I grew up. I was surprised when Matt actually showed up. Kerri grew into a very adorable toddler.

Going Solo: Gen 1.7

It was a cold and rainy Spooky Day as I headed to the hospital. Once I was settled into my room, I called Matt to tell him I was in labor. I didn't expect him to show up, but much to my surprise he did. He stayed with me the whole time and was there when our daughter was born. I named her Kerrington, Kerri for short, and she was beautiful. Matt thought the name was too much, but I said she needed to have strong and unique name. He couldn't argue too much since he wasn't putting his name on the birth certificate.

Going Solo: Gen 1.6

I was still getting sick so I finally went to the market to get a home pregnancy test. After the first one, I took a few more because I really wanted the outcome to be different. But they weren't, there on the screen of the little stick was the word PREGNANT.

Going Solo: Gen 1.5

I went by to visit mom. She had settled in nicely at Alan's place. It was huge and she gave me the grand tour. They had already set up a nursery and he made her a nice painting corner. She was being treated like a queen and she deserved it.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.4

Stuff was still breaking and I began thinking it was time to look for a better place. I had been promoted from Key Grip to Alan Stanley's personal assistant. That job came with a nice bonus and pay raise. If I was lucky, I would be able to find a nice one bedroom place that wasn't going to be crazy high in rent.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.3

I was starting to think my landlord was a slum lord. Things were constantly breaking and I found I could fix them quicker instead of waiting on the maintenance guy that never seemed to show up. At least things at work were going well.

Going Solo: Gen. 1.2

I managed to secure a job at one of the local film studios. I was a background extra, it wasn't a glamorous title or even high paying, but it was a job that got my foot in the door. Being new in town I wanted to do something I never did back home, make friends. I no longer wanted to lead a life of seclusion like I did with mom. Plus I was going to be a star, so that meant my name and face were going to be out in the public eye anyway. After all this time, I doubted my 'father' was even still searching for me so mom would be safe. I tried to figure out the best place to meet new people, in a town where looks mattered, I thought the gym would be a good choice. I had to be in shape if I wanted to be in showbiz right? Once I got there I met some friendly people.

Going Solo-Gen1.

My name is Ansley Gruber (as far as I know). I grew up in the small town of Twinbrook. All my life, it was just my mother and I. I never knew my father, my mom left him when I was just a toddler.  When I got older I asked her about him but all she would ever say was that he was a mean man. Not only was he mean, but he also was apparently an important guy.
